Wow, what a coincidence, the same thing happened to me last night! Code P0628, truck won't start now. It's an 03 with the H.O. engine. What's the part number on Rockauto so I can be sure I am getting the right part? I'd rather not have my truck towed to the dealership 20 miles away only to have them install the in-tank pump and charge me $$$ for labor.

I couldn't find it at all on Rock Auto. I'm just going to upgrade to the Air Dog 100 or 150

If you have less than 80k on your truck, the lift pump is covered under the emissions warranty, and there is no deductible. If you are over 80k but less than 100k, then it is covered under the Cummins warranty, with a $100 dedctible. I just had mine replaced at 75k at no charge at the dealer, and this is what the service tech told me. Good luck

Update...Installed the Carter pump, works ok. Unlike the OEM pump the Carter doesn't have metal rings around the 4 holes that attach it to the filter housing. Very easy to tighten the bolts a bit too much and crack the plastic holes when putting the pump on the truck, especially the bottom two where you have a lot more room to turn the wrench
