Good News/Bad News
i didnt replace the return line from the pump to the tank. it didnt comt with anything to replace it with so i never took it off. it uses the stock return line.

Still may be bad if it sat that long. If that valve is rusted or stuck in the open position it creates the same problem.
I may be way off base here on what is creating the noise but this sure would be the easiest and by far the cheapest thing to check first. If your truck runs for a while and then dies it almost has to be something fuel related. Most anything else would keep the truck from running right at any speed for any amount of time. Have you checked for codes and do you have a fuel pressure gauge to know what pressure it's holding through all of this.
