Default Catalyst Filling Up All The Time?

Is there any way to keep the catalist from getting full so fast? I sometimes have to idle my truck at night in hot and cold weather to use either the air conditioner or the heater when I'm on the road, and it seems that the warning for the catalist comes on real fast and I have to get on the freeway and run for a while to clear it out and it's fine for maybe a day then the next night the same thing. Is there any way to keep it from happening so fast or do I have to stop idleing to solve the problem? It's a 2007 6.7 Dodge. Thanks for any help I can get. Hank

talking about the dpf right? from what I hear you need to get out and really romp on it once in a while to clean out the filter. Or you could always chip it and cut the filter off, but I dont know how well that will go over in california.

idling is the worse thing you can do to a DPF

on the big rigs here at work there is a way to manually put it into regen mode which clears the DPF, i dont know about the pickup trucks though, i would cut it out and get a chip if that is at all possible out there in (gulp) california.

have you tried a high idle? it may burn a lil more fuel but it's prolly not much more than what is burned when the truck kicks into regen mode....

Yes I took it in to dealer and had the recall update done months ago, I also found the high idle isn't hooked up in my truck. I just installed a K&N high flow air filter yesterday, now I would like to do the cold air modification to the box, what is the cost of material and are there any instructions on how to do it? Thanks for any help. Hank
