Default LMM oil drain threads stripped

Very long story but I had my 2008 2500 hd lmm duramax rebuilt. So far I have had problems. The newest one is I changed the oil tonight and when I was taking the drain plug out It was difficult to remove and when it was halfway out I noticed a wobble in the bolt. Well the first few threads are damaged in the pan. It went back in but there is still a small drip. I am scared to tighten it any more. Well finally to the question can it be tapped to a larger thread or am I stuck replacing the lower pan. Thanks. I am so upset right now.
