91 cummins VE leaking
I still have the '78 Bronco with a '91 Cummins non-IC engine that I swapped in, it has the VE pump. Years ago, I installed a 3200 gov spring, advanced the timing, turned up the fuel as far as I could get it and it's been running great. However, recently, it has developed a pretty constant leak while running, though still runs good and starts instantly, as it always has. I'm tempted to pull the pump and put all the seals in it, but I'd rather not right now, for health reasons, I am trying to keep the mechanical stuff to a min for the time being. I did install a low pressure/high volume upgrade piston pump kit today, with all new fuel lines and filter. I primed the system with the pump, and I noticed, while pumping it by hand, with the engine off, fuel began leaking from the Injector pump, the same as it does when running. It is dripping from the bottom of the pump head, but perhaps it's coming from up higher and just running down? If it leaked while priming it, without the engine running, it can't be the pump head o-ring leaking right? It must be coming from the housing where the governor spring is and just running down?
