I recently purchased this rollback at auction site unseen. Prolly a bad gamble but i did it.. truck start and runs.. lacks power and puts out alot of white smoke. It has 454k on it. Engine does jot knock. I am gonna check the dipstick for water in the oil and the antifreeze for oil as well.. possible head gasket.. was thinkinjng it might be injectors as well. Any input would.be awesome. I am not a diesel mechanic but i am also mot an idiot. Thanks for any pointers or tips.

 

It is a 24 valve.. as far as i know itnis stock. Also a reccommended shop if i were gonna take itnin for a repair

Likely gonna need injectors....bad. Also check for excessive blow-by.

 

I was looking on ebay anf i see all new injectors with o rings for about 1100. Stock 325 hp.. was thinking that i could just be losing comprssion around the injectors

 

Remanufactured injectors aren't always the best way to go, as the failure rate on remans is ridiculous. Ya never know what youre gonna get. Ive heard lots of nightares using remans.
