hello everyone.I have just bought a 1994 7.3 powerstroke dually with a manual tranny.when you first crank it it lopes at idle.when i drive it it feels like it has a miss.the truck has been sitting a while.i am going to do the usual stuff,new filters fuel treatment. i think i am going to replace the injector/glow plug wiring.it looks rough on the connectors.any othe suggestions on what i might should do would be appreciated.thanks

 

Scan it before you start throwing parts at it

 

Typically scanning your truck would be the best first step, but that pre-96 7.3 may have limited OBDII information returned. Having a backup CMP sensor is good insurance, and you can test it out to see if resolves your issue. They're like 30 bucks and only take a minute or 2 to install. In addition, with a recently acquired truck, you should check over and ensure all the basics, including good clean oil, oil filter, fuel and air filters.
