1984 6.9 help
Hi all -
I was on a while back and decided to do the fuel return line, caps and o-ring thing which went really well. However, I still have the same issue. She starts up well then dies and it takes a good amount of cranking to get her started again. On top of that, it seems like I now have some sort of leak on the fuel supply side because of a miss I didn't have before. Like one or two cylinders are are not firing. Very frustrated. The miss is just like it does when you open one of the flare nuts on top of the injector. Just runs rough.
This all seemed to start because I got low on fuel below the magical 1/4 tank level. I did the air line bleed thing before but never really felt well about getting the air out. I suppose tomorrow, I'll do it all again. I used vaseline in the caps and she fired up just great. Ran for about 3 minutes, I went to move her and she died. Cranked it about 8 times and it starts. I don't want to tear up my starter. Its supposed to be new.
When it cranks, it actually seems to speed up..... the cranking part. Then it slows down some just before it starts. Not sure if this a compression thing or what? No fuel? Air in the fuel line? Not sure. All new caps, return lines, clamps and no leaks it seems.
What do you think? Thanks for your help ahead of time.
