1993 6.5 Turbo Diesel Blows White smoke
1993 6.5 Turbo Diesel 135K miles, replaced glowplugs 4 month's ago, replaced Fuel Filter on top 1yr ago along with Radiator and air filter. Prior to 1 yr ago it had been sitting for like 5 years, and it was started up a couple times a year. This all just happened one morning as i went to start it, no problems night before. Living in Arizona so hot temps above 100 right now.
Idles rough when first starting and idles like a jack hammer when warm. Thick white smoke as it's running, smells like unburned diesel. Tried some Lucas injector cleaner for 2 tanks but no improvement. Noticed it looks like diesel fuel is getting into oil, not bubly or have a color other than black. Coolant is at a great level and has not changed as ive been running it for couple hundred miles. Replaced PCV valve yesterday.

Crack the injector lines 1 at a time and see if you are getting fuel to each one.It won't gush out but you should get a small drip or at leased wetness around the line.If you get one with no fuel theirs your problem.Fuel filter should be changed every time the oil is changed.

You can do it with truck running but make sure your digits and loose clothing are away from running parts!I'm pretty sure you can loosen one then crank engine over and repeat until you have went through them.Start on drivers side maybe you'll get lucky.

Just my Luck...
The first 5 lines i could get to caused the truck idle to drop, and of course the last 3 are impossible to get to under the Turbo unit. So i guess my next step is to replace all 4 on the passengers side which is large undertaking. Does it require a special tool to remove the Injectors? Also which injector brand should i get, the Stanadyne since thats what GM built it with.
Thanks....
Thanks....
