Click no go
You know you have a problem when Dodge can't tell you. I have a 98 Dodge 3500 5.9l 12 valve, drivers side main battery has several hot leads that come off it. One of the leads(black on mine) comes off a single eyelet and splits into 2 fusable link 8 gauge wires and runs directly below battery box to a ...(looks like a solenoid but isn't). What is this part. I used to have a manual that has disappeared. Dodge doesn't have it in any diagram(they asked me to bring the part in for identification).
The reason I am trying to identify it is when I turn the ignition on I get a hard click noise from this area, I believe it is interrupting the signal to my starter(brand new just replaced). This truck drove into the barn 3 years ago and got parked, for maintenance. I am now trying to get it started.

Sorry I have been at the barn experimenting. Here is the update, engines starts and runs smoothly by jumping starter. However trying to use the key results in just a click. Checked all the fuses they all are good. Weird thing is my windows won't roll down by switch either. I am gonna wait a bit and retest all the fuses again. I am also going to try an find a diagram for the power center under the hood(the cover which has that came up missing also) I need that diagram to figure out which relay is for starter. Any input you can give me to figure out my starter issue would be grand.
