Hi. I have a 6.9 idi that wont start. i just put new return lines on an o rings around injectors. The truck will run on starting fluid but not on diesel. The guy that owned it before me says he put a new injection pump on it. I have bled the lines made sure their is fuel but still wont run on diesel. I don't know what else to do. Could their be a bad switch, or pump or is it out of time? PS it will fire on diesel but that's about it. Please help!?!?

 

Have you changed the fuel filter?

Yes. Its gettin fuel but doesnt wanna fire on the diesel.

 

Use WD-40 not starting fluid unless you wanna be picking up parts.

 

had same problem today 1991 7.3.bleed injectors turned out to be fuel filter.
