Just joined your foam due to the fact i just bought a 2007 f250 with 6.0
Im 19 and am in the USMC I'm on the crash crew got 3 years left in my
contract. Work on ht farm and do other various work with truck just
never had a diesel before so could use a little help. Just want to do some
general mods like exhaust gauges cold air intake and such.

How many miles? Id do an Egr delete, coolant filte kit first, then gauges etc. Maybe headstuds before programmer.

i believe the truck already hads an egg delete kit but i just bought the truck and i haven't even got to see it yet because i have been gone. I gt to go home next week. truck 180000 miles on it. why do the head studs need replaced?i have heard people i know who have diesels say that they need to do it to their trek but no one has ever expained to me why

When you add horsepower and torque to these motors especially 6.0 they tend to blow head gaskets with extra pressure. Has the head gaskets ever been redone? Get an oasis report.

its an honor to serve 97, and yes I'v had one done but it came back as it not being done at a dealership. but when the truck was taken to a mechanic he said that he believesit has all been done already is there any way i might be able to go out about checking it out since there is no real records of it.

Look and see if it has studs instead of head bolts. A lot dealers will go back with arp head studs If they do a hg job. And most independent shops will also
