I gt to go home next week. truck 180000 miles on it. why do the head studs need replaced?i have heard people i know who have diesels say that they need to do it to their trek but no one has ever expained to me why

When you add horsepower and torque to these motors especially 6.0 they tend to blow head gaskets with extra pressure. Has the head gaskets ever been redone? Get an oasis report.

Look and see if it has studs instead of head bolts. A lot dealers will go back with arp head studs If they do a hg job. And most independent shops will also
