The only stuff I've ever heard of for the old IDI's was from Banks!

There was a recent article in either Diesel Power, or Diesel World Magazine recently about squeezing more power out of the IDI Fords.
For the most part, a lot of the basics would apply to your truck the same as they do to others. Intake, fuel...whether it be injectors, tweaking the pump or both, and a good exhaust. You may have to get creative for making an intake, but it shouldn't be terribly difficult to do. A good exhaust shop should be able to take care of the exhaust end, and I'm sure one of the vendors on here will chime in with some other ideas.
Not sure which transmission you have, but a good overdrive, (if you don't have one) either from a trans swap or aftermarket such as Gear Vendors will do wonders for your mileage as well as being able to keep up on the highway.
