new from north alabama
well, i found the site a couple of months ago while trying to figure out my problems.
i live in near Huntsville AL.
my first and only diesel (so far - now i'm hooked) is a 94 chevy suburban 2500 2WD. i've had it for about 4 months. in excellent condition. it's supposed to be my family car, but having issues at the moment. i believe it will be a great truck when i get to the bottom of it. i'm looking for and older vw diesel truck, working or not, to fix up, for driving back and forth to work. they are hard to find, and generally not cheap for their age, but get great mileage, and will last a long time. or so i hear.
6.5's are extremely rare around here. when it comes to older diesels, everone has internationals or cummins.
i'd also like to eventually buy another 4x4 version of the suburban i have now for myself, and put a manual tranny in it. not sure what year they quit puttin em in subs, but i know 94's didn't get manuals at all. shouldn't be any trouble to get one from a pickup though.
if i don't do that project, i would like to take a 4x4 1/2 ton truck and put a 4bt cummins in it. that'd be cool.
anyway, thanks for all the help, and hopefully one day i'll have enough diesel experience under my belt to help someone else.
