Default New here because I want to learn more about Diesel Repowering.

Hello everyone, I have been working on my 86 GMC and it is time to repower. I have been researching this for a while now and a diesel engine is the best way to get the power I want with some fuel mileage. The truck now has a 350/w granny 4 and 4.10 rear. I does good for local pulling and driving, but My family and me like this truck the best out of our 5 trucks. I would like to transplant a Detroit 4/653T or maybe a Cat. Oh yeah and about 7 go forword gears. Is that too much to ask?
