Hey guys just thought I would introduce myself. I'm a navy guy with a strong back ground in imports (ricers) and how a gas engine works . Currently I have a 03 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.7L V8, had this truck for almost a year mainly my dd. One day I was in my shop talking about my truck complaining about my gas mileage (14-15 on the highway), when one of the guys in my shop piped up and was like what my 1 ton dually (2000 Quad Cab 3500 Cummins) gets 17 and has more power then yours and I don't have any work do to it yet which will gain me another 2 more mpg. So needless to say since that conversation I have been slowly been trying to up my diesel knowledge trying to learn the pros and cons of all the diesel trucks out there. Picking up the diesel stuff has been a little bit challenging as things work a little bit different then what I am use to. Anyway I look forward to trolling around here and learning what I can so that when I get back from deployment next year, I can get rid of my gasser and hop into a diesel.
