By the way, the ball joints are not bad and I wittnessed the mechanic checking them.
I did however need new shocks. As for the servicing, Ford had to fix the trans due to a valve exploding and that was about at mile 10000. so the trans was basicly rebuilt. As for the other stuff that needs to be serviced, I'll do it since I are a mechanic. Just getting too old to be crawling around on the floor. Also, I haven't done too much heavy pulling with this truck except for a 29 foot camp trailer.
The Ford dealer I use for my company F650 shop truck is Horizon Ford in Tukwila...used to be SeaTac Ford Trucks---they work on only pickups, vans, and the larger Ford trucks...no cars...shop is pretty good.
I know a very competent private shop in the Napavine area if you ever need work done. They are very good.
The brake fluid flush is kind of a pain but the power steering fluid can be done easily with either a turkey baster or by just dropping the return line in a bucket and pouring new fluid into the reservoir while your lovely assistant turns the wheel slowly back & forth....and pulling a 29 foot trailer is considered severe service per the manual maintenance guidelines, and although fluid flushes/changes are a good thing to do, the price dealers want is a tad inflated, to put it in a nice way.
Cheers,
Dan
