Mercedes engine compatability

I am looking to put a 84 5 cylinder out of a 126 body in my 79 300sd with a 116 body. Does anyone know if the bolt pattern on the bell housing is different between these two years? I know the trans was changed between the two body styles, but am unsure of the eng. trans. mating bolt pattern.
