Default New guy from SE CO.

Hey all! New guy here from Southeastern Colorado. I've been driving a 1st Gen (04/98) RC1999 F250 SD XL 7.3L for the last 17 years. I'm not a gearhead by any means, but can do a lot of basic maintenance. The old truck is stock and tired, and I'm in the process of purchasing another diesel pickup that's better suited for my family.

The pickup I've made an offer on is an 06 CCSB 2500 LT3 Duramax LLY with Allison 6 speed tranny, so from what I understand it's a detuned LBZ. It's also nearly 1200 miles away so I paid a 3rd party to do an inspection with fluid analysis and test drive since I can't check it out personally. If that comes back all good I'll be purchasing the vehicle and having it shipped.

I do plan on some mods to this truck if/when I get it. I'd like a BPD EGR cooler instead of doing the delete, as my wife and I are looking at a move when our daughter graduates HS, so keeping it emissions legal is a plus. It has a K&N intake on it already, but I don't know of any exhaust mods but I plan on upgrading from factory. I'd also like to tune it to at least factory LBZ levels and adding a Edge monitor.

I also plan on freshening up my old 7.3L because it just seems to be tired. So I'm planning for new injectors, turbo rebuild, 4" turbo back exhaust, and maybe more depending on what else I find needing fixed. I'm also wanting to add a mild tow tune of 70-90 hp with an Edge or similar monitor.

I'm all about making these trucks last as they're just too expensive to replace on a regular basis. I just plan on keeping the old 7.3 around for the heavy work stuff, and the Duramax for pulling the 32' camper, family trips, and my daughter's show steers. Anyway I'm glad to be here, and I'm looking forward to learning all I can.
