Default What to buy??

Im looking to buy myself a new pickup that is going to be a good reliable family truck. Im looking at an 08 or new duramax crew cab or a 06 or newer dodge 6 speed? Im really not sure what to buy...ive always beena a dodge guy but love the comfort of the chevys. Just not sure on whats the most dependable and most bang for the buck.

In your case, I'd probably go with a Chevy/GMC. Since you're looking for a family truck, the bigger backseat would be better. Maybe take your family on a couple test drives and see which one they like. Can't really answer your other question without knowing what your plans for the truck are.

I forgot about the megacab. I'm not a big fan of them so I didn't think of it.

So to the OP, maybe check out some Megacab dodges.

The new chevy's are rated higher than the dodge's. Dodge/Cummins isn't really doing anything to improve. they have the cummins name to sell the trucks and the contract ends in 2012 model year. get a chevy duramax. they're nice trucks, very comfortable and plenty of power(more than cummins for the new ones at least)

Definitely do some test drives. I'm sure one truck will appeal to you more than the other, but still do test drives with your family and see if you all have similar opinions.

I like my 01 Duramax... If it last with me behind the wheel, then it must be good...

This is my first duramax (an Isuzu/GM team actually makes the duramax engine)... I have no experience with the other models myself... As far as emissions, we have no enforced limits here in florida... My truck has no cat, no muffler... It is loud and smelly, but I like it that way ...
