As for your rpms will remain unchanged, if you have a 01 cummins. Rpm is all controlled by the trucks pcm(computer). But when ever increasing injector size, it is recommended to change/update the pcm tunes. Because now rail pressure will change and injection timing.(these injector are all controlled by the pcm) I mean you may get away without doing this but you ll see a bit of change in performance and may not be at its full potential. So if you have a tuner, call the tuner company, tell them the change and they or someone else they trust, will update your tuner according to the mods. May have to pay. But if you don't have a tuner, and don't want to buy one, you can find a shop that can change the tunes straight onto the pcm. So it's food for thought, modifying these truck can be a pain, but this can help you out to avoid problems. Hope this helps

limp mode
Okay thank you guys!!
I also have another question my truck keeps going into limp mode. Ive changed the map sensor, all the sensors on the trans and it keeps doing it and it has a new injection pump and tps. Could a bad injector be causing it? When I start it up is when it does it and it will blow some white smoke doesn't matter if its hot or cold outside, until the truck warms up. When it warms up it wont do it.

Hmm, when you mean limp mode, that it doesn't shift out of one specific gear?? Then if so you got a trans problem, if you changed all the sensors does that include speed sensors? But if it hard shifts (goes through gears but slow and harsh)when cold it definitely can be a injector sensor. This scenario is not limp mode if so. Personally with my exp. that should be it. Since white smoke is a sign of bad injection timing (fuel shot at the wrong time creates white smoke or can be bad valve or really bad valve Lash) But injector sensors can be tested with a ohm meter by pulling the two wide plug by the valve cover, the 2 plug that connect to the valve cover gasket, you can test there. I can get back too you about that and the specs but they can or should be tested on bench tested by an injector place specialist which can test everything on how it activates.

Non electrical actuated injectors only the VP Injection pump and individual lines to each injector relying on injection pressure pulse to cycle the injector.

But Kyle, what do you mean by limp mode? Once you start and go that it won't shift out of a gear? If so the problem must come from the trans, have you check the speed sensors? But I'm not leaning on that, Because of your white smoke, which mean there is fuel that is not being combusted or burned. So your must be running rough then, so is your limp mode meaning lack of power then? But once the engine get warm the power is mostly restored and the white smoke goes away? I have few theories but I feel I'm missing some details.

No problem I do it all the time,
