Default My Short Intro...

Well, thanks for the warm welcome! My name is Carl, I'm a family man, married for 14 years now to Stacie. We have three kids ages 12, 14, and 15 (Ava, Kristen, and Caleb), a cat (Champ) and a puppy (Tucker is a 80 lb Golden Doodle). I've been driving pickup trucks all my life and driving diesels since '04; started with a new VW Jetta (work commuter car) and now I've retired after 32yrs working at Raytheon, driving my '01 Ford F-250 7.3L SD Crew 2WD shortbed. I got my first F-250 when I retired in '10 - needed something to pull the new boat. My sweet wife's idea; we moved near a lake when I retired so she said we had to have boat, which led me to sell the VW and get the F-250. Now, I do miss the VW, but really love the truck! (which, by the way my wife spotted on CL and that white XLT was mine the next day). That one, which we called "Crusher", (another story there) had 191K and it 'was' in very good, solid shape - I said 'was' because it was totaled last November by an illegal left turn. That happened on Monday and by Thursday I found "Crusher II", another F-250 almost the twin to "Crusher" (RIP) again, found on CL. I had to pay a little more than what the insurance man gave me credit for "Crusher" but I really found a gem this second time: "Crusher II" is a Lariat, white with gold that has been upgraded from stock (in '10) with 4" SS exhaust, Garrett GTP38R turbocharger, with a Banks BigHead Wastegate Actuator, aFe Stage 2 filtered air intake, Daystar 2" static front lift, and a Sonnax valve for the E4OD. I did salvage the Edge CTS and the Extang Solid-Fold tonneau from "Crusher" so all together it’s a sweet ride with plenty of scat!
