I lived on a farm for a couple years with my parents but it fell through due to drought. (Center pivots are your friend) I learned more than I ever expected from it though. How to be a volunteer fireman when you are welding, how to drive at 7 years old in daddy's lap pulling32 footer cattle trailer and bring your brother and dad closer to the lord, how to get the pickup out of the sand after dad drove in it not paying attention, how to help dad after he slammed his fingers in the toolbox lid, how to treat a mild knife cut after dad told me to help cut the strings off a hay bale (Only knicked the top of his hand, didnt go deep), how a cow can poop like a buffalo after eating too many soured watermelons, how momma can nearly get bit by a pissed off possum trying to save it from our labradors, how to slide off the tin roof of the barn and nearly break your ankle with cousin Eathen with us both at 7 years old, how to flip an adult go kart at 7 years old with dad in the passenger seat, and many other things I cant remember right now. The seat belts and roll cage literally saved our lives that day. Needless to say, it went missing when me and my brother got a herford to ourselves to sell when we wanted to.
