New guy here from Utah
Just bought (don't even have yet) a 2001 PSD 4x4 auto. Truck is in perfect condition, original owner and run on a 40 bio/ 60 diesel mix since new.
I used to have a Cummins (2000 5 speed) that went through two injection pumps and three lift pumps in about a year. After I got that sorted out, it got the dreaded death wobble and $1500.00 later, I still had it and I developed a phobia of freeway expansion joints.
At that point, I wasn't fabricating or rock crawling much (my main need for a diesel) so I traded the unreliable but much loved Cummins in on a brand new F-150 Supercrew Lariat. That truck has been the best vehicle I have ever owned and pulled decent.
The big problem was, when I got back into rock crawling, my F-150 would average 7mpg and wouldn't pull past 60 in a strong wind with Utah's elevation.
So, I sold my F-150, bought the PSD and bought my wife a little Subaru to drive.
I came here mostly to research maintenance, filters, fuel additives etc.
