Tim's Introduction
Howdy, my name is Tim, I live in the Bay Area of California, Martinez actually. I dabble in all sorts of diesels, Ford 7.3, IDI and DI motors, Detroits, 353, 453, 8.2, 8.3, Straight 6 MAC, and a few more. Have all sorts of engines, but looking for the best engine with the best truck to pull all the best way.
Presently have a couple of Dodge Rams with new generation Automatics. Also have a couple of 6.6 Duramax's with Allison 1000 - engines are ok but the transmissions are AWESOME!!!
I pull 33,000 lbs with my Top Kick 4500, with the 6.6 and Allison 1000. The engine is underpowered. It does not pull like the Cummings
So it is my quest now to get the best information to set up this 3500 HD to make it the best puller most reliable of the trucks on the road today. This is a tall project I have coming up. Would like some insight from other truck builders to make this a better truck.
