never ran a Komatsu, but prefer the cat over the case in a trackhoe and reverse that for a backhoe although their both good machines. The top 2 in my opinion.

CAT equipment is nice, but you pay a LOT of money for the name.

Komatsu hydraulics, undercarriage, and structure are nearly identical to a CAT, and, with the exception of Cummins power in most machines, operate the same.

Hitachi is another excellent excavator brand.

We have all three where I work and truthfully I'd rather run the Hitachis over the others.

Case is cheap....that's why there are a lot of them out there.

we have all case equipment at work so I guess I am biased... It is used by several operators so it is usually abused but keeps on going...

I'm a CAT guy. I like the John Deere track loaders and dozers though. But everything else has got to be a CAT.

I have to say i like CATs better, nice hydraulics, no overheating, operator friendly. Ran a big Kobelco for a while that was pretty nice too, but you had to run w/all the doors on the engine bay open or itd get hot after about an hour of constant heavy digging, i was digging a large tank.

Not entirely, but pretty close. Many of them are re-badges of the other.
