Default TH400 Slipping

got an 86 1 ton 4x4 with a 6.2 and a TH400 that's slipping a bit and I'm about to move 3400 miles round trip and need to make a few trips with the truck pulling a trailer and don't really have the time to replace it before the move.

I've never used tranny additives before.....are there any good ones out there that anyone can recommend?

thanks!

....future question for (hopefully) after the move.....what options do I got for putting in a different tranny when I replace it? I don't drive the truck very often only because of needing another gear....I don't need to go 90mph, but I would like to be able to go 60 without having her wrapped out. I don't want to get into anything with electronics though......any suggestions?

thanks again for y'alls time and help

the tranny shop here in town told me that ya couldn't put a 700R4 behind a diesel cuz the engine would be too strong for the tranny....I explained that the 6.2 is not a big powerful diesel like today's modern ones and they said it would still not hold up......I thought they were wrong but I didn't wanna find out the expensive way......so a 6.2 and a 700R4 are completely compatable then?

for the record, after this move I won't be using the truck for hardly any heavy hauling

thanks bud
