Default Crankshaft Position Sensor

Where is the location of the crankshaft position sensor on a 2006 Chevy Silverado HD 6.6 Turbo Diesel Duramax?

i have an 03 and the sensor is a 2 wire plug on the bottom passenger side, front of the engine right below and/or behind the crank pulley. don't know if they are the same design in that respect but it shouldn't be far from that area. i'd start there. maybe there is a wiring diagram in your manual?

thank you, you were correct it is located just below the crankshaft pulley. best to do is remove right tire, tire cover and the sensor is just ahead, again thanks, rogerz
