Allison tranny

Default Allison tranny

hey guys has chevy stuck with the same allison tranny since the LB7 or has it changed? if so how has it changed? do any of you guys know whats in them that makes them as good of a tranny as everyone says?

Changed, went from a 5spd to a 6spd

I love my 6-speed all the hard parts inside the A1000 are very large compared to all the rest save for maybe the 5r110, but they are larger and that makes it easy to build an Allison with less parts and it will hold as much as other units with much less work

when you say bigger what do you mean? what are hard parts?

Im not an expert, but i can tell you from personal experience that I broke the input-shaft in my dodge like a candy cane, (after i rebuilt it with billet converter, VB, aftermarket clutches)

I have yet to have a bit of problem from my Alli
