Good God I'm sure its been asked a million times.

Is there a list of differences between the duramax generations anywhere around here on the web?

the only real difference is:

01-04 LB7 - 300HP 520ft-lbs
04.5-06 LLY - 320HP 560ft-lbs
06-07 LBZ - 360hp 650ft-lbs
07.5-10 LMM - 365hp 660ft-lbs
2011 LML - 397hp 765ft-lbs

2001-2005 had 5spd transmissions
2006+ has the 6spds transmissions

2001-04 has no emissions and EGR(minus the Cali. trucks)
2005-2007 has only a CAT and EGR which all of that is a simple fix.
07.5-10 has more emissions (DPF/CAT/EGR)
2011 has more emissions than the LMMs due to the Urea injection
