"diesel powered pickup" at what point do we stop calling it a pickup? I am much more impressed by a truck running excellent times that can still do many if not all of the every day duties that we buy our trucks for. Obviously there comes a point in time when driveability becomes an issue, but at that point you aren't really worried about driving said rigs on the street very often anyway. IMO the Type-D is impressive, but to me it is FAR from a pickup. It probably doesn't even have an open bed.....did I see a smooth top over the back?

You stop calling it a pick-up when the body no longer resembles a pick-up (ie. dragster). The Pro-Stock class must be a pick-up bodied vehicle and it just so happens to be the fastest pick-up bodied class before going to Top Diesel (ie. dragster). Of course it doesnt have an open bed, it's a racetruck that is designed and built for that purpose. Your comparing apples to oranges and not really sure why. What your looking for is the Quick Diesel class. Daily driven trucks that run 10's and still tow a trailer and get grocerys.

True, but it's not a pickup. You could throw any other body over that thing that will fit. I'm sure a lot will agree. I'm not trying to discredit the engine, or banks, or anything else. It's just not a real pickup. It's annoying to hear "fastest pickup" when it should be phrased "fastest pickup bodied."

how about "worlds faster diesel door slammer", that falls it right into pro-outlaw, pro-stock, outlaw 10.5 and a few others.

The sound has the be the twin turbos, not compound turbos like we are use to hearing. I think it is bitchin' myself, I just wish they would put out a product that pushes the envelope a little more. Maybe a programmer that has several safe "smokeless" tunes and a few for the "strip" only that might haze a little but produce PPE llike power. And treat the dealers a little better...

personally, i don't care if you called it a "Coal Burning Cacksmacker".

it's fast, it's a diesel, it's smoke-free and it's a duramax. i'd bet 95% on here wouldn't have predicted even this 5 years ago. names and classes don't affect that.
