Default 4cyl conversion

I am looking into converting my 71 suburban to a 4 cyl diesel, i am new to diesels so i wanted some help with identifying a proper motor/transmission that will enable me to increase my fuel economy so i can keep my daily driver.

any ideas for engine and transmission combos? where to find them? and help with the installation and mods?

anyone in the portland area of oregon?

Thanks

I found a website where somebody swaped a isuzu motor out of one of those NPRs and into a 1500 it looked like a easy swap. The only thing is they dont put out that much horse power

Heres the website Overview

They are really not that strong as far as HP goes, so get up and go will not be there. Our Stake bed we had here could pull anything under the sun, but you were not getting there anytime soon. It seemed like most of it's pulling power was from the low *** gear it had in it too. The truck would never even think about going over 80. Hell, if I remember right, I think 70-75 was tops.

4bt would be able to push a suburban around (they use them in delivery trucks), and they can make some serious power if done right
