Default Speedometer

My speedometer is acting up. I noticed today that when I get on it hard that the speedo doesnt catch up with it. At one point I was doing about 70 to 8- and the speedo only read 10 mph. then another point it read 50 mph when at a read light. Anyone else have this issue with there truck. I have a 2004 LB7 with afew mods.

Yep, GM extended the warrenty on the speed-o/cluster to 80k on '03-'04 trucks because of all the failures. If you have under 80k miles, talk to the dealer about it.

i just had this problem with mine about a month back i hope it helps first off does your truck have under 80k miles? if so go to your GM dealership and tell them whats going on and that the speedo is sticking (mine did the same thing as yours) They will verify thru your vin that yours is one of the models that had the problem which if it is an 04 it is (because mine is an 04 as well) They will order a whole new gauge pod and replace it for free under the extended warranty. You have to pay about 70 dollars for some labor and they cover everything else. (if you were to replace this on your own it would be about 550-600 bucks. If you have any other questions let me know because mine was just replaced in november and works great now!

Mine has been replaced 3 times since new and still acting up. There is a place on ebay that sells replacement clusters. Look here
