im about to look at an 03 with about 100k miles on it... the whole lb7 injector thing is kinda freaking me out. the trucks all seem to be around 20k (thats what i can afford) around here and spending that much to have the injectors fail in a year or two seems risky. do you think its worth it to avoid the truck just because of this reason... or others.

any help would be great

GM has a recall on the injectors ... 01-04 chevy diesels have 200,000 mile injector warranty through GM. I had my injectors done by a aftermarket warranty company.

 

i didn't think it was a recall... i thought it was a warranty item... and they only replaced it if it failed

 

its a warrenty, 7 year 200k mile, whichever comes first

 

Check the vehicle history. My truck had them replaced early on and has had 0 trouble since then.

 

The injectors have to fail a certain way to be covered under warranty. Don't just think you will get free injectors up to 200k.

 

the LB7 is an awesome engine except for the injectors, i say buy it and be happy
