Default 2001 power stroke or 2009 duramax

Hey everyone this is my first post. I was unsure where to post this so i chose thise section. Right now i have the option to buy either a 2001 powerstroke with 230 000km. 4x4 extended cab. Or i have the option to buy a 2009 duramax for 12 000 (through a friend thats why its cheap) i was wondering which i should go with. I am unsure of the km on the duramax. I know the 2009 duramax have the dpf and all that **** on them which everyone seems to hate. What do you guys think would be a better deal ? I do not plan to run hot tunes on either. I want this truck to last me a longg time.

The lmm duramax is a great motor once it's deleted. My brother had one and put 95,000 miles on it with a built dog Gt programmer set on performance or extreme the whole time and bullydog is notorious for blowing up motors on they're higher settings. The a low mile 7.3 is also a great choice if it's in the money. The duramax will be way more powerful and they sound amazing too, it's really up to you whether you want old and simple or a new powerhouse. Also just a side note if you do the egr delete on the duramax you won't be able to to trade it in at a dealership, I was told it was illegal for them but most used car lots will still take it
