I'll see if I can find the stuff on the flow test, but I'm not even sure where I saw it now some of it may have been discussed in the filter study.
Yep sure GRI "debating" guess you should of looked at the overall picture sooner, but like I said water under the bridge.

This is a bunch of bull. Isnt AC DELCO partially owned by GM? Wouldnt GM benefit from the marketing of AC DELCO filters?
this test was biased. Im sorry but its the truth. they were testing it to find the best filter for a duramax (GM) its a sales pitch for AC DELCO. If we got any any of those other filters site they would have way different results.
If AC DELCO didnt place first in all of the readings then I would be more apt to believe it

After some discussion about this thread between Dangerousduramax and myself we have discovered a complete case of mis-communication on this thread. All of us here were guilty of thinking in terms of only our own brands. Us cummins Jockey's were thinking of our stock intakes that completely suck and the Duramax drivers were using their point of referance that their stock intakes work great. So now with that understanding I would like to revisit this thread and look at it from a different aspect.
If the Duramax intakes are so great, I wanna know the pro's and cons of using one on my Cummins. I personally have never laid eyes on one and this may be completely off base. This is one of those cases where we need to cross referance our brands to see how we can improve all of our trucks. This is why we need all of us on one site, so we can work together to share what we know about our trucks.

It's not the particular set-up. It's the filter media that is being used. There are plenty of options out there to improve the OEM Dodge filters. The easiest way is to see if AC Delco or whoever makes the OEM Duramax filters makes a OEM replacement filter for the CTD's w/ the same specs.
It's still a battle of filtering vs. flow. If you want to filter than you sacrafic flow. If you want flow then you sacrafic filtering. The only way to keep the same filtering ability while increasing flow is you have to increase the filter size. For Dodge's that would be something like the BHAF.

What a joke I try and post some information that none of you are aware of and this is what happens? While that test may not been perfect to accused the members of Diesel Place of being biases is BS. I have see dust in more then a few intakes of K&N equipped vehicles.

I'd have to agree with you both there will never ever be a K&N on my diesel , though you cannot beat them on a gasser.
