Default Duramax Oil bypass Kit

Hello Diesel Bombers. I was looking into buying an Oil Bypass kit.
Has anyone ever used these? And do they work?

Looks like an awesome deal even if you run synthetic and change your oil frequently.

But I have seen some people stating “they change their oil ever 50k miles” is this true?

Thanks again for the help.

Oil Bypass filtration is a great tool for keeping your oil squeaky clean, which leads to many benefits.
Depending which system you find, I have heard of filtration down to 2 microns so that makes it obvious that less crap going through your engine means it's that much happier and will last much longer.
Oil does not get contaminated, it just gets saturated with contaminates. Think of the Mythbusters experiment when they lifted a boat with ping pong *****. Filter out the ping pong *****, and the water is still pure.
If the filtration system is doing it's job, you may NEVER have to change your oil again, barring any other failures or abnormal wearing. No matter what, going with extended drain intervals you have to do oil testing. This will tell you exactly what is going on inside the crankcase so you will know what is happening in there. It can tell you things like the metal contents found (normal or abnormal) or even if they find antifreeze or fuel in your oil. This obviously alerts you to a problem and possibly a costly repair.

Bypass filtration is extremely beneficial in the over the road trucking industry where I have my background. Oil is the third largest expense after fuel and tires, and eliminating any cost in business is a great deal! Unfortunately there are too many people that don't believe in technology, or think 'if the manufacturer didn't put it in, it must not work' so it isn't very popular. Fortunately the latter isn't an issue on this site

Now, buying synthetic and changing it normally is wasteful and expensive. Like I said, some of those tractor trailers that you go by on the highway haven't had their oil changed in over 250,000 miles! A leading bypass system is the OPS-1, and if you are looking for testimony or even diesel info, check out Steve Sommers or Bubba Bo on 700wlw.com and when they have guests on they take calls and there are a lot of testimonials that call in for the various guests products.

Two issues that the kit does not address is the using up of the oils additive package and shearing. The oil will eventually need to be changed regardless of how clean it is. Guys who push it that long will run a UOA to determine when
