Default need towing help

Hi I am going to purchase a travel trailer. for a truck I know this is a diesel forum but I have nowhere else to go;I am really looking at a 1999 chevy tahoe LT 4x4 with the 5.7 vortec. The travel trailer weighs about 6000 lbs dry weight and the tounge weight is about 750 lbs. I was wondering how this truck would do with this trailer hooked up to it and what mods I may need for the truck. Don't worry I still got my ol' 6.2!
Also I would be pulling around 60-65 mph.
Thanks a lot!!!

i say get it if you like it. tahoes are very good and fun vehicles! it should pull that trailer no problem as long as you dont over-load it.

Ok I went to look at it everything seems good. I know the KBB. It is in absolute perfect shape. Really amazing. Now I have another question. In perfect shape in your opinion what would you pay for it with 137K. 100% all options. They want 6995. How much do you think would be a good deal. (It is @ a dealer)

Thanks!!

price.. id say about $6000

the 5.7 is s good motor, there are millions of them out there so parts arent a problem, and they are pretty reliable, it should tow 6000lbs, but it wont be a rocket

you can get a free flowing exhaust, an intake, and there are some companies that offer custom ecm tuning

I had a Sub with a 5.7 when I was in Ca. I changed the Mas Air Flow Sensor, stock looks like a Honey Comb hard to believe it can breath at all. I went with Granatelli GM Mass Airflow Sensors made all the difference pulling my trailor from Bay Area to Lake Tahoe.
