The only thing I was told that was the same is the torsion link in the front. The rest is all supposed to be updated. I did crawl underneath and ya the right hand torsion is shorter..time will tell I guess

Whats this DEF Duramax is supposed to be going to? It's supposed to replace the DPF, my dads company runs it in their new freightliners and I guess it's a fluid that gets injected into the fuel and it's like $18 per gallon. All i have to say is wow.

DEF is used in addition to the DPF, it is injected in to the exhaust not the fuel. DEF is 70% water and 30% Urea. It sells here for $8 for a 2 1/2 gallon jug and you should get 3-6k miles on 5 gallons. With the DEF, they can program the engine to meet emissions without drastic regen programs that kill mileage. These trucks are supposed to get around 20 mpg stock once broke in. That's why I waited for them to come out, 20 mpg and 400 horsepower with a 5 year 100k mile warranty, what more could you want from a new pickup?
So far I am very happy with my truck. The power is amazing and the new chassis handles a trailer much better in my opinion. I've had one glitch where the ecm wouldn't reset after filling the DEF tank, which is turning out to be a somewhat common thing. The dealer did a reflash and all is good again. So far I am very, very impressed with the new setup, only time will tell how it does with some years on it.
