Default DPF BLOWN APART

my old mans truck 07 3500 blew the dpf filter apart at 167k just wondering if any one has heard or seen this happen he replaced the cp3 pump not too long ago and now the dpf blew apart. he does use this truck for hot shot and he doesnt abuse it either no programmer bone stock truck any input would be nice

It probably rusted out.

Any pictures? That might help, but I'd say like previously mentioned rust. The DPF is a huge restriction in the exhaust and causes a lot of back pressure, so combine that pressure with a weak/rusted DPF housing and its just a matter of time. If he is out of warranty he should just do a DPF delete since it would be cheaper than replacing the DPF and not worries of future failures and of other emissions related headaches.

well sorry no pics as i am in iraq right now and i tried to get him to do the delete but he is scared of dps since he hot shots and has commercial plates

Ah ok gotcha, he could always weld it back up and hollow it out and then run a tuner so it looks like its there.
