They do say they get better with more miles and I think 60-65 is optimal. Tow haul mode? I would want that 03 back also, but make sure you are comparing apples to apples, no speedo errors(tire size changes), head winds/tail winds, etc.
I would want to keep anything that got 18 pulling a empty 24 ft trailer and would never expect anything to do that.

the 03 mileage was not pulling the gooseneck. That was daily interstate driving 80-85 mph. Sorry for the confusion.

So, guys with LMM's, if you could post what your stock mpg's were and what you get with mods, it would be appreciated.
Right now he puts on about 700 miles a month to my 1200 and i still pay less for fuel. But if he upgrades, he has to get a new GM since he went with a 4 year lease 2 years ago. His dealer is trying to tell him that he can get 18 all day, but I call BS with the DPF on it. Thanks for the help guys.

I get 22 to 23mpg highway on cruise at 70mph and 16-18 in town with my 2008 4x4 crewcab, totally stock. Highest was 23.7 on the freeway. 22.3 Sacramento to Vegas

I get 13.6 daily on 8 mile commute and city. 17-19 highway. over 20 possible.
mileage with mods??? with mods you have no warranty, no discussion needed here.

If the 2011 Dmax ever comes out, has the price increase and needs the liquid urea added ever 1000 miles, I'll be looking to sell my low mileage loaded 2009 dually at a premium and order a 2011 gasser equipped how I want and buy a camper .

the dealer doesn't have to void your warranty if you delete the DPF, but they will, cause usually people who get rid of emissions equipment want more power, and every tuner out there that has the ability to delete the DPF also can add power, and what does added power do? It breaks things, like u-joints, transfer cases, transmissions, rear ends, front ends, etc. I know this because well, I've broken it, and the dealer didn't have to void my warranty, but do i blame them for doing so? no, not really

I have a 2009 CC Short box all stock, just broke the 10K mileage and in town, I drive 1 mile to work and 1 mile home- 14. Freeway cruise on at 65, actually 62 is the sweet spot 22.4 all day long. Now that i rolled over 10,000 miles, freeway at 65- 23.2 MPG and getting better the more i get higher mileage.
