Default 12v to trailer plug

I am trying to help out a friend that has a 07 classic. It is our understanding that the 12v on the 7 pole trailer plug is on all the time, even with the key off. He has a camper that runs down the batteries when they dry camp and the plug is in the bed of the truck and hard to get to with the camper on the truck. We want to install a relay on the 12v to the plug. Where is the best place to intercept the 12v wire going to the trailer circuit and what color is the wire at that point? A picture would be great!

Thanks for the help!

Scott

That's a good idea... might do it myself!

I would intercept it off the lug in the fuse box. Very easy to get at and protected from the weather.
