230 temp on lbz duramax
Hey everyone. I own a 2001 duramax and have never had the problem but i have a customer that owns a 2006 1 ton dmax and just installed a bullydog programmer. he was towing (not sure how much) but said the engine temp climbed to 230 before the fan kicked into high speed. ive done some research on this and i guess this is normal? He wants to keep the temp lower and i dont blame him even if this is normal.
so basically, is there any fan clutches out there that can come on sooner as far as temp control? Ive only heard of one ( hayden part #2850)- anyone with experience on these?
If this is an old topic and the issue has already been resolved i apologize. like i said this is new to me. And i couldnt find too much on this issue on the web.

i seam to remember something about a Hayden fan clutch that was filled with silicon. read it in of of the diesel mags. i think it was supposed to come on about 20 degrees earlier.
does this "customer" have an upgraded intake and exhaust? remember more fuel = more heat. towing with an increase in HP is very hard on the cooling system
