Default turbo lag

alrght yall im a 7.3 and 6.0 guy but my buddy has an 07 classic that he needs some help with. this is his first diesel (hes used to 3/4 ton gassers) and hes lookin for something to help get rid of some of his turbo lag. right now the truck has a hypermax (came with the truck) and a 6" lift.

he pulls his camper on the weekend (35 or 40 footer) and he doesnt drag race and isnt looking for crazy power or anything.

so far i know he needs an intake (wants a dry intake) an exhaust (may have to do a cat back bc he travels to cali every now and then) and he needs to tune the truck

from the ppl ive talked to edge cs or cts rather than an efi bc hes not looking to drag race the truck.

any opinions on this would be awesome hes told me to see what he needs and get it ordered. he set his budget at 1000 to 1500 (but im sure i can get a little wiggle room there)

Cold Air Intake is pointless on these trucks, the stock intake is plenty sufficient for 500hp all day long

Edge CTS are slick and i like the monitor and the adjust on the fly abilities, a guy i know made almost 500hp to the wheels with one

a transgo Jr. shift kit to keep the Allison happy for a while, and a lift pump like Fass or Airdog are probably not bad ideas either

I would do the PPE economy. Good tunes and shows you how to mod your current airbox for better airflow. Not sure but a cat back may help some getting rid of the big cannon exhaust.

the Transgo jr is only $100 and will help keep the trans alive with tunes around 400-425hp

Cat back is pointless, get down-pipe back exhaust

these trucks have little relative lag due to the VGT turbo, i dont notice any real lag with my truck
