hey guys there are alot of additives advertized for diesel trucks. Here is what i got:
what are yalls suggestions to fit my situation? Best Lube for components? Best Fuel Additive?

Im just trying to take care of my truck.

Keep in mind this truck is not raced or entered in any competition. (would if i could) I do pass sunday drivers though.LOL Just hauls and is a daily driver.

Best fuel additive would be anything that restores lubricity back into the ULSD to protect the injectors and fuel pump. Living in TX you don't have to worry about cold weather performance, so I'd go with 2-stroke oil, Stanadyne Lubricity Formula, Stanadyne Performance formula for summer. There are others out there too, but these are what I have experience with. Stanadyne is warranty approved for VW TDI's and many other vehicles. 2-stroke has out performed many designated diesel additives in terms of lubricity and isn't highly touted or marketed, just seems to work.

No problem dude. I'm running Shell Rotella, it's probably too late for me to switch to synthetic, but since your truck still has low miles on it I'd go with a full synthetic like Amsoil if you want to keep it for a long time. It is more expensive though.

MPG probably won't change much if at all with the additives, but you might notice the truck runs quieter, maybe a little smoother depending on conditions.

 

I had 70,000 miles on my powerstroke switched to amsoil didn't leak a drop

Thanks again for all the advise this is my first diesel truck. i was an all out bore out on them gasoline engines till i made the switch.
