Default Dmax problems?? Died out

So last night i was drivin my truck around 60mph and it started to sputter (its done this before but quit after a time or two) after sputtering i gave it throttle and it then lost it...no throttle just coasted out to nothin and died out. After it died i waited a short time and tried to restart it but it would only crank. I checked the fuel prime pump and it was plum full, lines are getting fuel. After about five minutes it fired right up and ran fine, however a short ways down the road it started sputtering again, it never did die again but did it all the way to the dealer. The check engine came on so i want to see wat codes it threw. Its an LBZ always taken care of, seen a lil hard pullin but not anything that should hurt her...Imean its a dmax... Any ideas would be helpful thanks Ps fuel filter was changed 5k ago along with the oil.

You could have gotten either some dirty fuel or some water in the fuel. I would go ahead and change the fuel filter again, if it has been 5K since it was changed you MAY be due for another one.

You MAY also be dealing with a bad fuel level sensor in the tank, what was the fuel gauge reading?

it doesnt make any sense to me tho i drive it every day and out of 5 days it may only do it 1 day then the next week itll do it 3x in a week...Ihad it gel up once this winter n changed the filter now put 5k on it As soon as GM gets a good damn filter theyll be set but until then its headaches for us money for them... let me know your thoughts thanks

I would not use an AC Delco Filter, I would make sure that you get a WIX filter Part # 33910 for it, they flow great and filter down to 4 microns. You can get them either at Carquest, NAPA, or through your Resident Amsoil Dealer through the Preferred Customer program they are a bit less.

Now, my '03 LB7 was having similar issues when I would haul with it and I went and picked up two bottles of Diesel Kleen and poured them in one whole each for two tanks of fuel, then continued to use the recommended 4oz's per tank after that and it cleared right up, I think I may have had some trash in the fuel lines that was causing a sporadic problem. I then later switched to Diesel Concentrate and have yet to have any problems.

I don't know if that will solve your problems, but it has helped many owners of different model D-maxes.

Good Luck with it!!!
