P0087 is a Fuel Pressure Rail code. The truck's fueling system is not able to deliver the commanded rail pressure. What mods have been done to the truck? What fuel tune was he trying to run. Sometimes the FPR shim mod will help eliminate this code.

He's got a quad, and running the 50 horse tune. He has had this problem before. He has 22 percent left on the ff, i told him to change filling stations he is getting crappy fuel. This has happened about 4 times already and everytime he changes his ff it goes away.

I would never go by the % on the dashboard readout for the fuel filter bud. I change my fuel filter every other oil change.. No matter what the dashboard reads. If that dont fix the problem, you can get a fuel valve shim. Its very easy to install. That should help some.

When you put a programmer on the truck, the DIC info goes out the window. If he's at 22% on the FF, I'm sure it's nothing more than a FF that is overdue for a change.
