Have an 2006 GMC when you turn key on glow plug light was not going out. Had it scanned was told glow plug control module was bad so I replaced it. Light still does not go out when starting until you release key and check engine light still on. Any ideas.

 

We're you ever able to get this problem solved? My truck is doing the same exact thing now

 

have you tried clearing the codes? what about the glow plugs themselves?

 

Yea have cleared the codes a few times. Still getting p0672 and p0381. Changed the number 2 plug about 3 weeks ago.

 

not sure if the module is the same as the LB7s but on my 04 i had similar problems and i gave up and just turned the codes off with EFI Live. from what i gathered is that GM had some issues with the cali emission version of the controller and never figured it out. some would resolve with new glow plugs, others with a new module and a few needed new ECMs

 

The cali module had individual wires to the glow plugs right instead of a one wire tying four together?
