Default blown turbo?

so im rippin down the hwy home today as usual playin with dodges puffin black clouds, when all of a sudden EXTREME amouts of white/blue smoke out the tailpipe! like i shut down both lanes behind me ridiculous amounts of smoke!!!! oil dripping out the tailpipe too, no bang or tick or rattle at all and still runs so-so with a super rough shaking idle.i have the pcv reroute done with 5/8 hose wide open with no filter or restrictions, also fingerstick/blockoff plate. any ideas? my egts have always been stupidly high (1350 all day long)compared to any other duramax iv seen,so i hope its not a piston? but i think its a fried turbo maybe, or could i have toasted a piston/rings? im a bbc guy not a diesel mechanic, how do u do a compression check on a duramax?

p.s it is a chevy so i did make it home of course.

You might have a bad injector(s) theyll cause white smoke alot when theyre hit with the stiction problem use your edge if it's the cts and check your injector balance rates. But the oil out the tail pipe?? if there isn't no rattle or bad idle tick or bangin you more than likely didn't crack a piston but it's possible the turbos gone. When you drove it did it seem sluggish like the turbo wasn't working?

well im 99% sure i either cracked or melted a hole in piston #6(high egts between 900-1450 all day)(stuck turbo vanes are the suspect), finally did a compression test and they were all around 430psi except cylinder #6 had zero! not even a little puff when u put ur finger over the hole absolute 0 psi. so could it b a melted valve or piston or cracked piston... either way i guess the motor is coming out to be rebuilt or replaced.i was suspect right away because glow plug#6 was covered with oil when i pulled it out.any thoughts or advice??

so how much roughly to rebuild the bottom end with better pistons? i can pick up another used lbz with similar kms for $2000-$4000, but im no farther ahead really and will just melt/crack those stock pistons again.upside is i have a complete spare motor for parts, downside is its still stock. how much for a lightly "built" short block for a lbz?

well i found a low km wrecker motor for $2000 and bought a turbo with up/down pipes and manifolds. it was cheaper to do that than build a bottom end and be stuck with the stock turbo. now i have my turbo($7000!) and all accessories and efi live. and i still have my blown motor to oneday build up the bottom end hopefully before this new stock one dies! losing faith in chevy products built after the year 2000. junk motors junk front ends, c,mon chevy put some solid metal back in your trucks for f sake.
